Pokémon Red & Blue
We begin by the beginning...
When you start a new game, you will receive a short introduction about the world of Pokémon. After a little bit of talking,
you will be asked for your name. Then, you will meet your Rival, which you must name as well. After that, you shrink into
a small sprite used to walk around the maps. You will start off in your room. Head over to the PC to open it, then take out
your Potion. After you do that, head down the stairs and go outside.
Pallet Town
When you head over to Professor Oak's Lab, you'll find it empty except for the people who work there. Go back
outside, and head to the north of town, into the grass. You'll be stopped by the Professor. After the talk, he'll lead you
to the Lab, where you'll have a short chat with the Professor and Gary. Then you get to pick your Pokémon! Here's a quick
review of the starters:
Bulbasaur- Grass/Poison
He's the starter for you if you're a beginner! He's really strong against most of the Gyms, and he can learn
handy moves, such as Sleep Powder and Solarbeam.
Charmander- Fire
This is the starter for players who want a challenge or who are experts. He's weak against most of the Gyms,
but he's still really powerful!
Squirtle- Water
This is a great Pokémon for anybody! He's good against most of the Gyms, and weak to only a few. He has a
great Defense and HP, making him one of your best choices!
After you pick your Pokémon, Gary will take his. He'll choose the one that is strong against you.
When you try to leave, he'll challenge you. Well, here it goes!

You will be automatically healed, so now you can head out of the Lab. When outside, head back to the north of town and
head for Route 1.
Route 1
When you're on Route 1, there's not much to do. The first guy you come across will give you a free Potion.
You should also raise your Pokémon level a little bit by training against the wild Pidgey's and Rattata's here. When you're
done, go straight for Viridian City.
